SHANE DOLMOVIC

"In 2008, Trooper Shane Dolmovic received The Commander Land Force Central Area Private of the Year."

Shane is a superbly skilled Trooper whose courage and dedication inspire his peers. He exemplifies the qualities desired in future leaders; strength, determination, focus, drive, courage and respect. Trooper Dolmovic was awarded the Medal of Military Valour for saving the life of a fellow crew member after a vehicle hit an Improvised Explosive Device in Afghanistan. Freeing the trapped driver, he performed life saving first aid despite imminent risks of fire, explosions and enemy attack. He is a reliable and dedicated soldier, and through his strong work ethic and devotion to the Canadian Forces he has gained the respect of both peers and superiors. Trooper Dolmovic consistently maintains a positive attitude and is a definite asset to the Regiment and the Army.
